T Mobile G1 Google

It's the first in a new breed of mobile phones. It's the first ever phone to be powered by Google Android. It gives you complete access to Google Apps, Google Maps, Gmail, and Gtalk, plus full internet access. It's the T Mobile G1, and it's set to change the world of mobile phones!

Some mobile phones, by their very nature, are important, whether it's because they're the first ones that have a 5 megapixel camera, or the first ones that have got GPS, or the first ones that give you, the user, something cool new. Well, unveiled recently is a handset that is almost the dictionary definition of 'completely new': the Google Android-powered T Mobile G1, the first of its kind, anywhere in the world!

Google Android

It's blatantly obvious that the T Mobile G1 aims to do what it does differently than all other mobile phones, and this ethos comes from the fact it's the first ever phone based around Google Android, a completely new, never-before-used operating system. Not only that, but it's a totally open-source operating system, so that anybody can write applications for it, putting on ANY software feature they need! So that those apps can find their way round the world, the T Mobile G1 has 'Android Marketplace', an online store, where you'll be able to install applications that can add basically any new feature someone has dreamt up onto your T Mobile G1!

The content fun doesn't finish with that, though, because you also have access to the Amazon MP3 Store, on the T Mobile G1, allowing you to peruse and purchase from the 6 million DRM-free songs available, wherever you might find yourself!

Online Life

Mind you, since you're getting all that web action on the T Mobile G1, you'll need fast data access, yes? Well, that's exactly what you'll find, as the T Mobile G1 uses HSDPA, letting you hit speeds of up to 7.2Mbps. That makes getting software and music incredibly fast, but you'll also see the benefits when you surf the web (using a browser very similar to Google Chrome for desktops), or when using Google Apps. Add that to push email through Gmail, and you just can't lose. And that's before you even boot up Google Maps, including Street View, on the T Mobile G1. With the built-in GPS and digital compass, you can change your view of the street (and showing sort of digital signposts, in future), simply by moving the phone. That's truly useful, and just fabulous to use!

Of course, in spite of the big new feature being the Google Android software, the T Mobile G1 doesn't give you rubbish hardware, either. So, you also get a 3 megapixel camera, and the sliding display opens to give you access to a full QWERTY keyboard, so actually typing emails through Gmail is the easiest thing in the world! There's no doubts: it's fresh, it's innovative, and it does things in its own way. It must be the unique T Mobile G1!
